Salado Chamber of Commerce to Host 2026 Candidate Forum
SALADO, TX – The Salado Chamber of Commerce will host the 2026 Candidate Forum featuring candidates for Village of Salado Mayor, Board of Aldermen, School Board, and Library Board on Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14th. The forum will take place at the Salado Middle School cafeteria and will allow residents the opportunity to hear directly from those seeking local office.
The first session will take place on Monday, April 13 at 6:00 PM featuring candidates running for Mayor include Zach Hurst, Stephen Powitzky, Jeffrey Ingram, Michael Hudgens, JoAnne Purser, and Gregory Windham. Candidates running for Board of Aldermen include James McDougal, Gail Allard, Jeff VanCura, Linda Reynolds, Rick Marruffo, and Kevin Shoun.
The second session will take place on Tuesday, April 14 at 6:00 PM, featuring candidates for Salado ISD School Board and the Salado Library Board. School Board candidates include James Larremore, Dr. Scott Law, Dr. Eric Malmin, Cade Morris, and Dr. Will Tipping. Library Board candidates include Theresa Schwab, Nancy Mills Mackey, Maira Garza, Keith Cryar, and Christian Wigley.
The forum will be moderated by Nancy Best, who will introduce the candidates at the beginning of each session. Each candidate will have four minutes for opening remarks, which may include biographical information, campaign platforms, or other relevant topics.
Audience members will have the opportunity to submit written questions for the candidates. Questions will be collected, reviewed, and provided to the moderator. Each candidate will be given two minutes to respond to questions, with candidates rotating throughout the process.
Following the question-and-answer portion of the forum, candidates will provide two minutes for closing remarks, presented in the reverse order of their introductions.
The Salado Chamber of Commerce encourages community members to attend this forum to learn more about the candidates and their perspectives on issues impacting the Village of Salado and the Salado community.
